Meet me

Hello and welcome to my little corner of Blogland

I'm Ali and I live in the Suffolk countryside with my husband, Tom; two little men, Oliver and Hugo; Howard, and our newest addition, Lucy, a labrador x springer spaniel.

I can generally be found running around after my two little men (and Howard), making structures out of Lego (I'm pretty sure I would be the worlds worst architect, judging on my lego buildings), baking, sewing and generally lusting after pretty things we can't afford to have.

I love reading Country living and Country Homes and Interiors and get them every month, without fail.  In fact, at the beginning of the month I practically camp outside my letterbox, with a cup of tea, waiting for our lovely post lady to put me out of our misery.

Talking of tea.......I'm a woman obsessed.  Earl Grey is my tea of choice.  I sometimes flirt with coffee, but I don't think anyone could pull me away from my dear Earl.

I'd love to pretend that I'm a fashionable, well "done up" gal, but I'm most comfortable when in my  jeans (most pairs are falling apart) tweed coat and wellies.  I genearlly have some kind of baby "goo" on me...gosh he's messy, although at least start the day off, clean!  I never wear makeup in everyday life (I really don't have the time in the morning) and let my  curly  frizzy locks run wild.  So all in all....I  definitely look like a mess.  (If you're in Suffolk and see a little, short, mess of a woman walking with a child, baby laden pram and little spaniel [perhaps with a tall, bearded man] then give us a wave!)

I bake a lot….a lot, a lot.  Strangely, if I mention a fresh bake then I suddenly end up with a lot of visitors.  Along with my maid of honour, and a few wonderful family members, we made all of the cake and baked goods for Tom and my wedding, in September, and had a fabulous time doing it.

Other than baking, you can generally find me sewing, crocheting (a new found skill) and sometimes I dabble in a bit of knitting.  [Usually, but not always, with a cup of tea and slice of cake next to me….are you sensing a theme?]

See what I mean about the hair (this was a particularly bad day)

Tom and I have just bought our first house together and so we're beginning our journey into life as homeowners.  We love our little house already, and can't wait to do it up to how we like it.  Luckily we're both very much agreed upon Clarke and Clarke, Greengate, Cath Kidston, Laura Ashley and handmade and vintage finds.

As close to a baby picture as I can find.  I'm on the left, holding my little brother.
A bit older, in the middle.

If you have any questions then feel free to ask, although please try to be nice.  I'm a sensitive soul.
