Winter Times

:: Oh gosh, just look at that sight….Isn't it amazing?

:: I might have frozen my socks off, running out to take these photos, but darn it was worth it!

::The view out of the garden.  We might only have a teenie tiny little courtyard, but not being overlooked is quite nice when you're in your jammies and dressing gown.

::The garden is covered in frosted cobwebs.  Perhaps it should be a sign at how neglected my poor little courtyard is, but I'm sure that it means that our garden must look so darn snug for the little (and not so little) spiders.

::I have to say…I prefer the webs to the creatures that make them *squirm*

::Sorry, I needed another look at that little Sycamore.

:: Just look at those frost crystals.   They're almost blossom like, although instead of a flurry or petals as you walk under it, you get covered in little ice crystals.

::The little twig got all iced up, too.

::I might not like the cold all that much, but I love the way winter looks.

::No, Spring is most definitely not in the air......!  I have a feeling we're going to have this Narnia-like winter for a long while yet....  So long as we have a fantastically hot summer awaiting us, I'm going to enjoy the magical winter whilst it lasts.

::Those biscuits, by the way, are divine.  They came to us in an incredible Carluccio's christmas hamper and not to be fooled by the state of the jar, that was my first!  (Thank you Tom for eating them all!)  They're going to be hidden from now on so I can have my fair share.

::……...Well, it's only fair.

  2. What beautiful photos! You should have the sycamore ones blown up and put on a canvas! Winter is lovely to look at but oh how I long for some lovely spring weather! Much nicer for the dogs too, I can't imagine a day where I will be able to go over the field without a massive winter coat, hat and gloves and muddy wellies!

    1. I would, but I took them on my iPhone, so I doubt I could blow them up much. My camera has been put in to storage, effectively, as I've lost the charger in the move.
      Dog walking in winter is very different to summer. I remember taking our Ridgeback x on walks in the autumn and even then it was getting chilly…..a whole winter of it might not have been so much fun! How's Marley liking all the snow and cold weather?

  3. Your photos are amazing! The blue sky is just beautiful - who needs spring with a sky like that?

    1. Thank you! I've decided that "I" need spring……..it's too cold for dog walks with tiny people! They complain muchly, darn it!

    Still plenty of snow here but its been so grey all the time - never a hint of that lovely blue sky you had when you took these.
    Thanks for sharing!
